2024 Moto Guzzi Stelvio First Ride Review

Two weeks ago I told you all I was traveling home from an exclusive first ride of a new motorcycle, but I couldn’t divulge any details. Well, now I can. That new motorcycle is the 2024 Moto Guzzi Stelvio. It was not hard to imagine that Moto Guzzi would put its new compact-block 90-degree DOHC V-twin in an adventure bike after the success of the V100 Mandello. In fact, both bikes began development at the same time. Now, the Stelvio is nearly ready for production. But before the rest of the world even got a look at this all-rounder ADV, Cycle World got a ride on a preproduction unit.

Even though these types of early tests can be relatively brief—we had a half day on the Stelvio—we can get a good idea of how the bike will perform. In this case, the preproduction unit tested was about 95 percent complete. So it is very close to the bike that will arrive at dealers around January 2024. And it’s good, even better than the widely praised V100 Mandello. Actually, I call the Stelvio “the best Moto Guzzi ever.”

Check out my first ride here. We look forward to a full test complete with dyno testing and performance data on a production unit in the very near future. Until then, check the articles below to get up to speed on Moto Guzzi.

As always, there’s more than we can fit into this email. Check out cycleworld.com for additional tests, reviews, and news.

Ride on,
