Read more below on how to stop worrying about things like PPM and focusing on pH levels- and how to avoid chasing them.

"I have to pH up, but when I bring the pH up, my ppm skyrockets. What gives? How can I correct this?"

If you just got your favorite nutrients but you're having to play the pH/PPM balancing game, you're not alone.

We've run into that issue countless times. So here's our 2-step approach to avoid chasing PPM and pH:

Click here to see our selection of pH adjusters and get your pH levels back on track.

1. Don't stress about PPM. Focus on correcting pH.

Adding anything to water- from nutrients to vitamins to pH balancers- will raise its PPM. So don't worry about PPM just yet.

Instead, make sure your pH adjuster has low nutritional value.

Note: N-P-K ratio on any pH adjuster should be low to avoid throwing off pH even further

2. Get yourself a water filter

Once you level out your pH you'll notice your PPM's go up. That's because you added more particles into your solution via the adjuster.

An optimal PPM level is vital so your plants can process nutrients in healthy doses.

And to do that, you'll just have to dilute the solution with filtered water. Here's how:

  1. Use a filter to clean the water you'll use.
  2. pH test your filtered water to ensure it's as low as neutral as possible (don't want that pH to go back up).
  3. Add filtered water to your feeding solution.
