Hey Hero,

Hope you're doing well today. We received a message late last week from Janessa Baar over at the RoatΓ‘n Rescue. Her rescue is in danger of being shut down by a few locals and influenced municipal members of Roatan Island in Honduras. They need all hands on deck, ASAP! Here's what's going on:

"RoatΓ‘n Rescue's animal sanctuary and community veterinary clinic are in danger of being shut down. For the past 3 years, we have worked tirelessly to end animal suffering on the island of Roatan.

There's a permit we need to keep the rescue operating. We were told we were okay. Today we've received the news we might not be. There's a small section of people who have been working to close the rescue down since we started. They're being led by the president of another rescue here on the island. If these people are successful in shutting down the rescue 27 locals will lose their jobs, 100's people will not be able to eat, and 600 ANIMALS DIE! All of this is because of the actions and opinions of a few ex-pats...

There's a possibility that influenced members of the municipal government that will show up tomorrow and give us an official closure report. "

Roatan Rescue is currently pursuing legal action against the group attacking them. They recently learned that the closure notice wasn't shown or shared with the other council members, who all have to vote regarding community issues like this. That being said, this is only a pause as they continue to have harassment and threats against the rescue and the animals. They can't afford private security or lawyers and worry constantly about the helpless animals and their team being hurt.

"This group wants us to shut down, hurting the animals as a result. We have legal representation and need help covering that expense. We shouldn't have to fight so hard to do the work we do. The more we follow God's will, the more evil stands in our way...

Stand up against bullies. Stand up against people wanting to close down the rescue. Stand up against anyone wanting to hurt the animals." - Janessa Baar

These rescue dogs need our help ASAP! Can you help them cover legal expenses, security, and resources for the pups?  Let's fight the good fight and help keep the Roatan Rescue open!
