Dear Hero, You may have heard the heartbreaking news a few weeks ago about 4,000 beagles found being bred for experimentation in Virginia. When the team and I first heard about this we knew we had to step in and help transport these dogs to safety. We are partnering with Greater Good Charities and the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) to fly beagles from Maryland to new adoptive homes on the West Coast. The HSUS is currently working to remove about 4,000 beagles from Envigo, a mass-breeding facility in Cumberland, VA. The facility bred dogs to be sold to laboratories for animal experimentation and was riddled with animal welfare concerns. These beagles deserve better lives but finding shelters and rescues that can make space and find homes for so many dogs poses a challenge. At a time of year when shelters are already over capacity, it becomes a feat of epic proportions. That’s why on August 31st we will have a beagle-exclusive flight through our Second Chance program. This operation will be one of the largest we’ve ever undertaken, requiring the use of a Brasilia plane. This flight will transport over 100 beagles to California and begin our ongoing efforts to help beagles be removed from this mass-breeding facility. Once at the receiving shelters, all dogs will receive any follow-up medical care they need before finding their forever families, but we need YOUR help. So right now - we’re opening up our second chance collection to fund this flight exclusively. If you shop this collection HERE, you’ll help fund this flight. You can also make a direct donation HERE if you wish. Will you help join us in transporting these sweet dogs to their furever homes?
