The shape of the handle is inspired by the oldest models from the 19th century, and the colours are based on 20th century Hultafors axes. Each axe comes with a leather keychain with a nail. It is with this type of ship's nail that the company started in Hults Bruk 1697. All in all, a cool axe that shows off the history of Hultafors very well! | | | | | | | 325 Anniversary Limited Edition Knife | Classic in a new look | | This knife is based on the OK4, one of Hultafors' most popular knives. However, the handle is made from hickory, the same wood that is used for the axe handles. The blade is made from Japanese carbon steel and has a scandi grind. The knife comes with a nice Swedish leather sheath. | | | | | | | The forge in Hults Bruk | 325 years of history | | The forging tradition in Hults Bruk, Sweden, dates back to 1697. They started with producing ship's nails, but soon other tools were added, like axes and shovels. The Ekelund family acquired the forge around 1820. In the late 19th century, Gunnar Ekelund modernised the production process to American standards. Many of the innovations he introduced can still be seen in Hultafors axes.
