Two Quick Tips There are few things more certain in this world than a Fiddle Leaf Fig showing brown spots sometime during its lifespan. And while anyone who's ever owned a Fiddle would agree that it's totally worth the extra gray hairs they can sometimes cause, it can unfortunately be a bit tricky to pin down what leads to the oh-so-common brown spots on this gorgeous plant. So today we're breaking it down for all the past, present and future Fiddle owners-- we see you, we salute you, we support you. In a nutshell, it all comes down to one of two opposing forces: overwatering and underwatering. - Brown spots that start on the edge of the leaves and spread inward are most likely due to the plant being underwatered.
- Brown spots that start in the middle of the leaf and spread outwards are likely caused by overwatering.
Neither scenario is ideal, but the latter can be serious if not tended to quickly. Dealing with this now? Sign into your account to get in touch with a Plant Doctor, or read more here. |
