The people have spoken: Sonic Frontiers is better than Elden Ring

Sonic Frontiers has an 8.5 user rating on Metacritic, while the shoo-in for most GOTY awards, Elden Ring, is sitting at a 6.9. I'm afraid that means Sonic Frontiers is actually better than Elden Ring. That's not the only evidence that the blue blur is just plain better than the grizzled old wretches of the Lands Between. A source PC gamers may consider more reliable than Metacritic user reviewers, Steam user reviewers, have at the time of writing awarded Sonic Frontiers an "Overwhelmingly Positive" user review average. Elden Ring's average is merely "Very Positive." Sonic Frontiers wins again.

Aaru is a VR bar, cafe, and development studio with tabletop lounges and private VR rooms. It houses the only commercial version of the Omnideck made for public use for VR gaming: a massive 360-degree motorized treadmill that lets a user safely walk, run, or crawl around in VR without slamming into a wall.

Like most of the Creation Club additions, Saints & Seducers involved NPCs who suddenly became shy, communicating via letters and books so new dialogue didn't need to be recorded. To begin the quest you had to track down one of the khajiit merchants travelling back and forth between Whiterun and Markarth, who then handed you a piece of paper like he was sneaking you a note in class. After enough repeated scenes like that, the Anniversary Edition stopped feeling like it was worth breaking half my mods to install. The Extended Cut version of Saints & Seducers fixes everything about it.

A beautiful and beautifully written narrative game that makes masterful use of its early modern setting. One of Obsidian's finest.
