A note from Chris Livingston, Features Producer (and William Shakespeare, AI chatbot)
A note from Chris Livingston, Features Producer (and William Shakespeare, AI chatbot)
As we creep slowly and cautiously into 2023, AI has become a big topic when it comes to just about everything in entertainment: art, music, writing, and even game development. And the more believable and accessible it gets, the more we're all wondering: will AI ultimately be helpful to artists, writers, and designers, or will it become so advanced it will replace them completely?

I can't answer that, but maybe someone else can, like this AI version of William Shakespeare I found on the Historical Figures Chat app on iOS. First, I asked it how to begin this newsletter, and AI Shakespeare said I should "provide timely, relevant information that is useful to the reader." Whoops, I've already gone wrong. Bill also said to avoid readers getting "overwhelmed with too much information." That one I think I can handle.

I also asked Shakespeare what 2023 game he was most looking forward to, and he said "The Elder Scrolls VI: Valenwood" is his pick. Weird, I didn't know Bethesda had even announced what the title of TES6 would be. Bill is already better informed than I am! Finally, I asked if he's going to replace me at my job. He said no, but suggested I use his writing tips to make my work "more appealing." Fine. My next game review will be written completely in iambic pentameter.

Person 3 Portable review: A PSP classic with systems that show its age
(Sega)
The PC debut is a port of the 2009 PSP retelling, which is divisive for its changes to the sort of "director's cut" version of the game, the PlayStation 2's Persona 3 FES. It's better in some ways and questionable in others.
