Where HYT separates itself from the typical timekeeper is how the time is displayed. Rather than rotate hands, discs, or other mechanical elements for the hour indicator, the hours are displayed with liquid in a tube that is slowly and steadily moved by the action of two bellow that are mechanically intertwined with the timekeeping movement below. Actually, there are two liquids in the hour tube that will not mix; one with color, the other transparent - thus demarking the current hour at the stark barrier between the two. Minutes, seconds and power reserve displays are of the more mundane variety – if anything on an HYT could be considered mundane!
