1	Rooted in Kauai History — The Ko’a Kea Hotel rose from the ashes of the old Po'ipu Beach Hotel, which was devastated by Hurricane Iniki in 1992. Ko'a Kea means white coral in Hawaiian, which celebrates the rebirth of the resort, and guests will find coral decor and themes throughout the resort as a nod to this.
