As we were launching our new campaign and back-to-work guide, Rewrite the Rules, I kept thinking about the dynamism of our identities and how for far too long there’s been a rule that women must hide their personal lives—be it their families, their sexuality, their medical needs, and even the painful blisters they get from high heels—in order to be considered professional.
This week, Daisy Dowling, the founder of Workparent, a coaching and consulting firm that helps working parents lead more successful and satisfying lives, offers five incredibly useful tips for working moms who are seeking more work-life balance (I think that’s all of us!).
What I love most about this story is that Daisy challenges the rule that working mothers have to do everything they can to keep their work and family lives from bleeding into each other.
Speaking of reshaping your identity, if you want to reimagine your work wardrobe so it more accurately reflects who you are (as opposed to who other people want you to be), Maddie has a guidebook for getting rid of 7 items that are probably haunting your closet right now.
And if part of embracing your true self includes having a “Hot Girl Summer,” we’ve put together five breezy, sweat-free outfits that will have you posting cute photos of yourself in no time (sorry, Mom!).

5 Expert Tips for Working Moms Seeking Better Work-Life Balance The pandemic created innumerable challenges for working parents. Now, as life goes somewhat back to normal, it’s time to rewrite the rules to make working parenthood more manageable.

7 Pieces to Purge from Your Wardrobe Before Going Back to Work Your closet is likely housing some old office standbys that just don’t make sense anymore. It’s time to swap them for something new.
Today is World Refugee Day, which celebrates the contributions of refugees around the world. We’ve been proud to partner with the International Rescue Committee over the past seven years as they work to help people whose lives are shattered by conflict survive, recover, and gain control of their futures.
