When is the last time you have lost yourself in the pages of a good photography book?
This week book buyer and Nuda Magazine founder Nora Hagdahl introduces six Voo Store favourites for you to get inspired and lost in time.

Get cosy and enjoy :)

August by Schorr Collier

Collier Schorr is one of Germany’s most acclaimed photographers, beginning his career in the late 80s. This book has collected Polaroids he’s taken in Schwäbisch Gmünd. It’s a mix of whiten portraits and images of prosaic milieus and objects bound together in a beautiful book. I find the cover really compelling with the lettering scattered like that.

Gavin Bond: Being There

This book from IDEA books book serve as a visual history of the 90s fashion scene. It’s taking you around behind runways and captures the in-between moments of a high-point in fashion history. I love how the cover alines with a 90s idea of how a coffee table book should look, it’s all very on point for me. Kind of giving that ”Chanel” book we all had lying around.

Bruce LaBruce Vol.1

Queercore icon Bruce LaBruce recently released his latest book of personal and private photos, titled Photo Ephemera, a visual autobiography, constructed with personal snapshots, moments with lovers, friends, trips, and behind the scenes clips from his films. This is one of two books. Published by Baron books, this is both scandalous, hot, important and more. I’m also a huge fan of the glossy cover.

Iga Drobisz: Index

Iga Drobisz is a Berlin based photographer and friend. She’s been experimenting with Polaroids for a couple of years now, this book is a collection of that work. As much as the book is monotone in the layout with portrait after portrait, what’s interesting is to look at is the different styles and looks of the people she’s been photographing.

SISTER SISTER by Liv Liberg

Liv Liberg was 10 years old when she started photographing her four years younger sister Britt. It was a game between two sisters in which fashion, dressing up and photography were in line with each other and in which Liberg was in charge. Published by Art Paper Editions, this thick edition is the archive of images show a girl developing into a young woman.

This is Farewell - Erik Gustafsson

Erik Gustafsson is one of Sweden’s most talented art photographers right now. In this edition he showcases his dark, contrasty and analogue photography, often processed in the darkroom afterward, until becoming almost like abstract paintings made with light. This rich publication is really a showstopper, with a rough cloth cover and transparent plastic sleeve it’s really unique.
