Want a motorcycle that is comfortable on the road as you burn miles while being able to blast down any first road you may come across. Sounds like you need an adventure bike! Adventure motorcycle’s nearly ubiquitous insectoid styling just not your style, you say? ADV’s are ugly? You won’t get any arguments to the contrary from me, no matter how much I love their abilities. So what to do?

Check out a Scrambler!

Scramblers run the gamut in terms of on- and off-road performance just like ADVs, but they do it with classic styling that won’t be an eyesore parked out in front of that fancy neighborhood cafe.  The segment is so cool that Ducati has an entire brand called Scrambler.

Scramblers are like a tailored suit that you don’t mind getting dirty. Sure there’s not a lot of wind protection, but the seat height is lower for better day-to-day usage. And some Scramblers feature suspension and electronics on par with the most aggressive adventure bikes. Triumph’s Scrambler 1200 XE is a perfect example. I even rode one on the Baja 1000 racecourse.

Below is a collection of some of our favorite scrambler reviews. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I am going to spend the weekend getting my tailored suit dirty.
