The Big Story
There's now a $20,000 bounty for anyone who can achieve the impossible in Halo 2
(Microsoft)
Streamer Charlie 'Cr1tikal' White is offering $20,000 to anyone who can achieve a full 'Legendary All Skulls On' (LASO) playthrough of Halo 2 Anniversary without dying. That means a max difficulty playthrough with (almost) every modifier activated, whose effects range from 'your foes have more health' to 'all enemies are invisible now'. The only modifier you have to keep deactivated is the 'Envy' skull, which replaces your torch with an active camouflage system. Good luck.

Review of the Week
Stray review
(Annapurna Interactive)
The early novelty of playing as a cat in Stray soon gives way to a striking realisation—we often behave like cats in games anyway. Particularly in platform-puzzlers like this, our first inclination is to explore, looking for unorthodox routes up the sides of buildings, say, or jumping on furniture and seeing which objects we can manipulate. Stray simply makes such activities more natural, giving us the perfect form for the job.

Your Say
Which videogame bar do you wish you could visit?
(EA)
Every RPG has to have an inn or tavern, and mystery games usually involve a trip to a dive bar. They're a mainstay of adventure games and open-world crime games too. Like bars in real life they might have minigames to play, like darts or pool or finding a local for Geralt to beat up, but they're also places where you can get to know the locals, whether you're scrounging for clues or recruiting new party members. And, of course, you can just get blitzed and watch the graphics go blurry.

This has to be the future of gaming laptops
(Future)
Just 15 minutes to upgrade. That's what Framework has promised. A mere 15 minutes to go from a laptop with an 11th Gen Tiger Lake platform inside it to an ultra-modern 12th Gen Alder Lake, armed only with the screwdriver that came in the box. That's pretty spectacular and a feat no other laptop manufacturer has delivered.

In Case You Missed It
Co-op Skyrim is finally real and works almost exactly how I hoped
(Bethesda, modded by The Together Team)
It only took ten years and a lot of tenacity, but modders have finally made Skyrim co-op and it genuinely mostly works. On my first night of Skyrim Together Reborn, my party and I tried to use about 15 total mods, which was a mistake. All four ill-fated party members crashed to desktop multiple times and, although we had a good laugh about it, it was chaos. There were invisible horses and floating NPCs. Our mod eyes had been bigger than our mod stomachs. Classic Skyrim hubris.

Powerwash Simulator is the best Far Cry game I've ever played
(Square Enix)
Riddle me this: name that game with a little bit of character customisation, where completing a repetitive series of mundane tasks lets you unlock a dizzying array of weapon modifications, and where you can use dazzling and daring acts of parkour to reach your target and accomplish your mission. That's right, it's Powerwash Simulator: my favourite Far Cry game of the last 10 years.
