Evil Dead actor Bruce Campbell shoots down idea of Ash Williams in Mortal Kombat 12: 'They need to come to our house'
(Saber)
The long-time Ash actor shot down the notion of the character putting in an appearance in Mortal Kombat 12 (or any other non-Evil Dead game, for that matter) saying that characters from other series ought to be coming over to Evil Dead, instead. "No, I don't want Ash to appear in other people's games," Campbell said. "Other creatures like Freddy and Jason should be in the Evil Dead game".

Meet one of the last positive communities left in gaming
(Ghost Ship)
For years now, in my stormy feed of Call of Duty players screaming about the latest gun and Hearthstone players declaring the meta dead for good this time, there's been this one consistent bright spot: a bunch of dwarf miners cheerfully shouting "Rock and stone!". Through thick and thin, the community around co-op shooter Deep Rock Galactic has been a haven of positivity.

Dwarf Fortress & Caves of Qud roundtable: The masters of simulation talk roguelikes, AI and making the infinite compelling
(Wild About You)
Dwarf Fortress is the kind of deeply simulated videogame where a cat can wander into a tavern, step in booze, get drunk by licking its paws then vomit all over the floor. Caves of Qud is the kind of deeply simulated videogame where you can use a can of "spray-a-brain" to turn an inanimate object like a wall sentient, at which point it can move, talk, fight, and become your companion if you're able to beguile it. The developers behind these two games are very much kindred spirits. They're also friends, which comes through in the casual but enthusiastic conversation they had together in a recent PC Gamer roundtable.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
(Respawn)
Unacceptable performance aside, the good news is I still had a great time. Jedi: Survivor is a bigger, bolder game than its predecessor that prioritizes tight level design over map scale, a rarity in an age of sprawling sandboxes.

The 10 best cozy games on PC other than Stardew Valley
(Spry Fox)
"Cozy games" is a non-genre distinction that winds up meaning different things to lots of people, but I think we can agree on an appreciation for soft visuals and gameplay that isn't too demanding or fast-paced. Some of the best cozy games keep to the farming and friendship themes of Stardew Valley and Disney Dreamlight Valley, but others are short adventures, laid back RPGs, and even the occasional cozy horror game.

This AI-made pizza ad is truly messed up
(Pizza Later)
Thanks to AI-generated content the internet sure has been showing me some weird stuff lately. That includes the obvious things like images with far too many fingers and teeth, but also uncanny valley horrors like the recurring face of Loab. This time, AI has delivered a pizza commercial more terrifying than anything Loab could offer.
