Diablo 4's $21 Bone Guy armor is just another reminder of how numb we've gotten to Microtransaction Hell
(Blizzard)
Paid armor cosmetics undermine Diablo's whole loop. Resident Evil 4 having its best outfits made into DLC instead of unlockables for its alternate modes and difficulty configurations was bad enough, but Diablo is a series all about the measured drip feed of rewards, cranking out hour after hour for your deluge of color-coded drops.

A $10 thrift store PC seemed as ordinary as they come, until the owner found a veritable "Library of Alexandria" of early 2000s gay porn reviews
(Valve)
"Man, I wanted to install Quake on this thing but now I feel bad for disturbing the Tomb of Gay King Tut," the podcaster tweeted of this discovery. The rig itself oozes early aughts—it's one of those gray and black office enterprise numbers and the inside is incredibly clean. It even has tidy cable management despite being from the era of top mount power supplies with spaghetti cords. And then you've got the digital contents: gigabytes of DVD rips and written critiques chronicling a past era of adult entertainment.

The Big Story
Nintendo's claim that emulation "stifles innovation" isn't just absurd—it's hypocritical
(Nintendo)
In 2023, the three longest-standing pillars of game company Nintendo are Mario, Zelda, and insisting emulation is a blight on the videogame industry.

Amnesia: The Bunker
(Frictional Games)
Amnesia: The Bunker is like a new beginning for the series, preserving a distinctive sense of powerlessness and foreboding while slotting that fragility into a full-on immersive sim. You don't just run and hide in The Bunker: you plan expeditions out of your Resident Evil-style safe room, exploring a labyrinthine, nonlinear world that stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the best horror games I've played.

In Case You Missed It
If you long to play high-level D&D but don't have time, then Solasta's Palace of Ice DLC is for you
(Tactical Adventures)
Even if you do the sensible thing and start your Dungeons & Dragons campaign at level 3—the point where everyone gets a subclass and starts to feel like a bespoke individual rather than a persona you bought off the rack—having a campaign actually reach D&D's higher levels is like becoming fluent in another language. Easy for kids, almost impossible for adults.

Finally, Something Funny
Yep, the perfect way to lure me back to a co-op survival game is by adding fishing poles and over 50 types of fish to catch
(Rocketwerkz)
Icarus launched back in December of 2021, and since then developer RocketWerkz has not been sitting idle. The latest update solidified my weekend plans. Sorry, Diablo 4, your demons are gonna have to wait. I'm going fishing on planet Icarus.
