The adventure motorcycle segment continues to grow in popularity, and manufacturers are consistently adding models into the mix. Last November, MV Agusta announced two new ADV bikes, the Lucky Explorer 9.5 and Lucky Explorer 5.5. The two models’ names are inspired by the legendary Cagiva Elefant Paris-Dakar racers. Now the Italian manufacturer has given Cycle World a ride on a prototype Lucky Explorer 9.5. Adam Child, our UK contributor, got to spin some miles in Italy. While the machine is far from production-ready, his time on the LE 9.5 gives us a good idea of how the new 951cc triple and ADV-specific chassis will perform when it’s available to the public. Check out his first ride here.

For many BMW ADV enthusiasts, BMW’s GS Trophy is the pinnacle of adventure. The seven-day competition brings 22 teams from around the globe to Albania for the 2022 edition. There will be long days on the bikes, combined with special tests based on riding skill and teamwork. Before the September 4 kickoff, I traveled to Utah and rode with Team USA to get to know the riders. Click here to learn more about the event and Team USA, and stay tuned for daily updates from the GS Trophy as I ride along with the team.

As always, there’s more than we can fit into this email. Check out cycleworld.com for additional tests, reviews, and news.
