Congratulations, friends! You've made it to another PC Gamer newsletter, proving successful both at surviving to this point and finding the time to read an email. Well done!

After waiting for the next-gen edition of The Witcher 3 to be patched, I'm finally replaying it (with mods, like Cyberpunk Ciri). The latest patch apparently makes it better at utilizing all your CPU cores and brings back HBAO or "horizon-based ambient occlusion", a thing I didn't even realize was missing because I don't look at grass shadows when pirouetting past a water hag. Ted Litchfield does, and fortunately he's around to sing its praises and convince me to enable HBAO when I fire up The Witcher 3 again tonight, even if I'll be too busy trying to complete my Gwent card collection to notice it.

RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 track takes longer to complete than the universe will exist
(Marcel Vos)
Theme park management sim and vomit-soaked hellscape creation tool RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 has played host to some real horrorshows. Streamer Marcel Vos is responsible for many of them, having built record-setting tracks like the nightmarish one that takes 12 real years to complete. His latest work puts that in perspective: it takes over three quinvigintillion years to complete. A quinvigintillion is a one with 78 zeros after it.

The first time I got really far in Mortal Sin and unlocked its third area, I thought I was overpowered. My character was basically Guts from Berserk: he would become immune to damage whenever he launched into his spinning sword Beyblade power attack, and he'd snagged a rare drop greatsword that would trigger it without a windup to boot. On muddling through that third area and reaching Mortal Sin's early access endgame though, I realized my error: you have to be overpowered to survive these final levels.

Clash: Artifacts of Chaos - A brutal adventure that refuses to hold your hand
(ACE Team)
Clash: Artifacts of Chaos is like the anti-God of War. It bears a family resemblance to Sony’s franchise revival, enough to invite comparison, but its design philosophy could hardly be more different. In particular, if you ever thought God of War would benefit from a more hands-off approach to nudging you through its adventures, then rest assured Clash keeps its sweaty palms strictly to itself.

In Case You Missed It
Studio makes its beloved destructible FPS free in bid to keep it alive
(GhostShark)
Blockstorm has attracted near-universal acclaim from Steam reviewers over its lifespan, with just under 6,500 reviews putting it at "very positive", but the recent reviews have not been so great. Mainly this is because it's a multiplayer-only game and, in the last year or so, the playerbase has moved on to other things. So GhostShark and publisher IndieGala had a decision to make… and it's done the opposite of what companies like Meta do. Rather than sending Blockstorm up to that great voxel graveyard in the sky, those behind it have made the choice to set it free.

Finally, Something Funny
I downloaded 'The Elder Scrolls 6' but I'm starting to think it might not really be The Elder Scrolls 6
(stupidcatgirl)
Ah, the wait is finally over. The Elder Scrolls 6(opens in new tab) is here at last, and a full six months before Starfield to boot. All my favorites are here: The Master Chief John 117, An immortal destruction golem powered by The Duke(opens in new tab), the Accuracy International Arctic Warfare Magnum, English post-punk legend and Sisters of Mercy frontman Andrew Eldritch for some reason. I may have gotten the wrong Elder Scrolls 6.
