You know what the kids like these days? Audio. Waves and vibrations emitted by tiny in-ear devices, that's what all the young'uns are raving about down at the rec centre. That's why the PC Gamer podcast is back in a new and improved form. It's called Chat Log, and it's hosted by the mellifluous tones of PCG's Mollie Taylor and Lauren Morton. It's hosted by the rest of them, too, I guess, but the mellifluous tones are really what's front and centre here.

The first episode is out now, and filled with introductions and discussions about hot-button issues like this year's upcoming game releases, predicted trends for 2023, and an attempt to divine the next game of the year. Also discussed: the games Mollie and Lauren have in permanent rotation in their Steam libraries, and the deeply foreboding "Why are we the way that we are?"

The pair plan to conscript other PCG writers to the podcasting cause, so you can look forward to in-depth expert takes on our favourite genres in future broadcasts. Expect opinions from Fraser Brown on strategy games, Sarah James on WoW, or even me on whatever popular, voguish release I've been playing recently (2010's Alpha Protocol at time of writing).

Kerbal Space Program 2's unfinished features may have been unearthed by dataminers
(Private Division)
The rocky launch of Kerbal Space Program 2 into early access this past week has been met with a flurry of commentary, disagreement, and strife among the game's community. These flames were fanned for some, dampened for others, by the information that dataminers and modders started finding inside KSP2's code.

Welcome to the new PC Gamer podcast
(Future)
Well hey, today we're premiering the first episode of PC Gamer's brand-new podcast series, Chat Log! We've been without a podcast for a hot sec but now we're back. It's got a new name and some new lovely faces, but it'll still be stuffed with all our favourite PC gaming discussions, debates and deep dives.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty review: A master of its craft, despite its technical issues
(Koei Tecmo)
Wo Long, meaning "Hidden Dragon", is an appropriate name for a game that feels like it's basically come from nowhere to tear up the action RPG landscape. Which isn't to say it doesn't adhere to some of that framework--the legacy of Nioh and Dark Souls is still present--but by removing the traditional constraints of the subgenre, Wo Long takes soaring flight.

Finally, Something Funny
Here's an entire scene from Twister (1996) remade in Kerbal Space Program
(Ravenshaddow via Private Division)
A popular Kerbal Space Program video-maker has recreated a famous scene from the movie Twister, down to lip-synching the actors' chatter with that of the Kerbals driving. They've also recreated the diverse and quirky array of weirdo vehicles the film's storm-chasing scientists drive, and watching the kerbals bounce them over the terrain is a delight.
