Letter from the Team: This Thanksgiving will be the first one that I’m not spending with my parents and sisters. We’re not spending it separately for any dramatic reason—it’s just been a busy travel year for us—but it does feel different, and I’m going to miss the family time that’s been a constant for so many years. That said, I’ll admit that I’m a little bit excited to avoid holiday chaos and have a low-key weekend at home. There’s something that feels so luxurious about staying put while everyone else is traveling from place to place.

Someone else who appreciates this feeling is M.M.LaFleur’s founder and CEO, Sarah LaFleur. This year, she’s staying home for the holidays along with her husband, three small babies, and one large dog. But even though she’s not traveling, she’s still relying on a strategic approach to outfit-planning that will allow her to spend minimal time getting dressed. I’m talking, of course, about a capsule wardrobe. Sarah curated this month’s capsule with her Brooklyn staycation in mind,

and I have to say, it’s one of my favorites yet. (And not only because it includes a sweater named after my dog.)

Speaking of sweaters: This week, Emma put together a style guide featuring seven days’ worth of sweaters, each with three different pairing recommendations. If you live anywhere remotely chilly, this is one you’ll want to bookmark.

I live in Austin, TX, and “remotely chilly” is exactly how I’d characterize the weather right now. In the winter, it gets just cold enough that I can justify a plush cashmere purchase.
