Royal Enfield’s third 350 single is more a modern motorcycle, for a Royal Enfield, than the Classic 350 and Meteor 350, and lighter to boot. Which means the newly released Hunter 350 has quicker handling and a more dynamic ride while still being very Royal Enfield. So what could be a better test for the Hunter than pinballing through crowded Bangkok streets while dodging tuk-tuks, maniacal scooter pilots, and throngs of pedestrians? Doing it at night—late at night—with jet lag. That’s just what CW Senior Editor Morgan Gales did.

When he rolled back into the hotel at two in the morning, Morgan was not only impressed with the steeper rake and shorter trail of the Hunter, but also enchanted by the character of the 349cc SOHC two-valve single. He says it’s everything you’d expect from a Royal Enfield, but more modern and refined than the Meteor or Classic. Pricing isn’t set yet for the US, but you can check out all the other details on Morgan’s first ride here.
