Shopping Middleweight Adventure-Tourers: A Comparison
Cycle World

1/15/23

Near the end of 2022, we put former Cycle World road test editor Don Canet to work turning laps and getting performance numbers for our 2022 superbike shootout. Something in those days of testing sparked a desire for a new motorcycle. See, Don doesn’t have the constant flow of testbikes he once enjoyed as a CW staffer, and he really felt the need to actually own a bike. The last bike he owned was in 1988—a brand-new Suzuki GSX-R750.

When he called me and asked to test three street-focused adventure-tourers, I asked, “Tell me why?” He said he was shopping and figured it would be fun and informative to bring the
CW readers along on his tire-kicking journey. We gathered a Triumph Tiger 660, Suzuki V-Strom 650, and Kawasaki Versys 650, and shipped them to Central California to sort out which is the best buy.

Read what Don has to say here, the results will surprise you.

As always, there’s more than we can fit into this email. Check out cycleworld.com for additional tests, reviews, and news.

Ride on and Happy New Year,
