Each year the bulk of the motorcycle manufacturing world assembles in Milan, Italy, for the Exhibition International Cycle, Motorcycle and Accessories, or EICMA. Although Covid-19 did cause some brands to reconsider attending the long-running expo, there were plenty of new motorcycle models announced. For any moto-fan, it’s an exciting time, and for the CW crew it’s long hours poring over press kits, writing first looks, and monitoring each and every press scrum.
While it’s hard to rank the most exciting or important announcements, Suzuki’s new parallel-twin powered GSX-8S and V-Strom 800 DE, along with the Honda’s XL750 Transalp, speak to the motorcycling masses. For those that get excited about the weird and exotic, Bimota’s KB4 RC fits the bill. Cruiser fans get the Rebel 1100T bagger from Honda and Royal Enfield’s Super Meteor 650. Indian motorcycles unveiled a ton of returning models and a new, sportier FTR.
Not only did we see a bunch of new and updated models, we also saw some very interesting concepts like Kawasaki’s EV, Hybrid, and Hydrogen machines plus the 921S, an uber-cool bridge between MV Agusta’s past and future.
