2024 Triumph Scrambler 1200 X vs. XE First Ride

1/14/23

For 2024, Triumph has reworked its super-cool and capable Scrambler 1200 line up. Gone is the XC model, replaced by a singular X that is lower, less-expensive, and more approachable. The rowdy dirt-ready Scrambler XE model remains with changes to the suspension and brakes while sharing engine updates such as a larger 50mm throttle body with the Scrambler 1200 X. But which one is the right Scrambler 1200 for you? Are you focused on street manners and an easy reach to the ground, or are you all about getting as far away from the pavement as possible?

Cycle World Editor-at-large Blake Conner, got a go on both machines over the course of two Southern California winter days (No really, it was cold!) to find out what sets the two apart when the wheels are turning and for whom each bike is better for. Check out his full review here.

Ever thought about off-roading with a Can-Am Ryker three-wheeler? No? Well, we did; as soon as we saw the Ryker Rally model with its white-WRC inspired wheels and chunky tires, a plan was hatched to put it through some real dirt testing. And our Associate Editor Evan Allen, really gave it a dirt heavy test! In fact, he even put the Ryker Rally up against a Can-Am Defender UTV and a Honda XR650L to see just how well it would sling dirt. Seeing a three-wheeled motorcycle sideways with a dirt rooster tail is something that should be witnessed at least once, so take a look at it here to find out how it stacks up against two wheels and four.

As always, there’s more than we can fit into this email. Check out cycleworld.com for additional tests, reviews, and news.
