2022 Honda Navi Buyer's Guide

This week I stopped into a local motorcycle dealership with my wife, for no real reason other than to look around and remember where my motorcycle career started and where many branches of the tree we all live under originate. There sat a 2023 Honda Navi mini-moto. Since the 2022 US introduction of the Navi, I’ve always thought it would make a great runabout.

“What’s that?” my wife, Kirsten, asked, pointing at a white example of Honda’s lowest priced street-legal machine. A door opens…

If you aren’t in the know: 2023s aren’t in the US yet, and white won’t be a color option when they arrive. This is at our second home in Central America, where Navi’s are very popular as everyday transport—as well as models from Yamaha, Suzuki, CFMoto, Formula, and multitudes of bought-by-the container no-name brands.

She has always had less than a passing interest in motorcycles, but the non threatening Navi caught her eye. Thirty minutes later, I had swiped the credit card, and added a mini to the garage. I’m just a little bummed that a Trail 125 wasn’t sitting in that dealership, but I’ll take any opportunity to add something inexpensive and fun to the stable. Not only will the Navi be a blast for me (and quite useful), it has brought another rider into the fold.

We love small motorcycles here at Cycle World, and have written much on them—particularly about how you don’t need big horsepower to put a smile on your face. Below is a recent selection, including Kent Kunitsugu’s review of the Navi and Blake Conner’s coverage of the new 16,000-rpm inline-four Kawasaki ZX-4RR. Show them to your significant other, kids, or even parents. Maybe you'll get to go shopping. Really, everyone should have a small motorcycle in their life.

As always, there’s more than we can fit into this email. Check out cycleworld.com for additional tests, reviews, and news.
