Ah! MotoAmerica’s King of the Baggers: It’s a spectacle for the eyes and ears, and there is no doubt about its popularity with racing fans and its ability to garner interest outside of usual racing circles. Harley-Davidson and Indian Motorcycle have invested heavily in the series with factory and satellite teams. Baggers on the track have achieved near-supersport lap times thanks to the talented engineers and riders (and also cubic dollars!) being thrown at the racebikes. But what about the old adage that racing brings advancements in production machines?

Well, Harley-Davidson’s 2024 CVO Road Glide ST takes heavy inspiration from The Motor Company’s involvement in KOTB. The ST gets carbon-fiber treatment (helping make it lighter) and high-performance suspension, plus a 121ci High Output engine. It even has Track modes available in its rider-aid package.

Cycle World Editor-at-Large Blake Conner hit the track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on the new model to find out if trickle-down tech from King of the Baggers makes for a, well, better bagger. Short answer: Yes, it does. Read his full review here.

CW Technical Editor Kevin Cameron and Editor-in-Chief Mark Hoyer have a new podcast on YouTube (and soon on podcast platforms), and wouldn’t you know it! This week they also discussed King of the Baggers racing. Carve a little time out and give it a listen.
