Here's Katie with the hardware scoop.
(PC Gamer)
Well, colour me green and call me a tree hugger. We're currently hosting a giveaway for an eco-friendly, custom RTX 3080 gaming PC based on the Terra Nil game. I know, PCs are inherently not the most eco-conscious of household items, but just go with it. It has tiny mushrooms and moss, for crying out loud.

And while we're praising product design, I'm a bit taken aback as to how many editor's picks we've had over the past couple of weeks in our hardware reviews. Usually its "Oh, it's good, but a bit expensive for what it is," or the dreaded "It's... fine." But two editors picks in the past week alone has me pretty positive about gaming tech right now. For audiophiles especially, the week's sounding pretty darn sweet.

Sadly, that sweet sound is tarnished by a great loss in the industry.

Pretty big deals
Vertagear Gaming Chair PL4500 | $399.99 at Vertagear (save up to $150)
(Vertgear)
There are quite a few range of chairs on sale during Vertagear's Spring sale, with discounts up to $150. The sale includes both the P and S lines of chairs, as well as the new 800 series of ergonomic gaming thrones.
Skytech Chronos gaming PC | Intel Core i7 12700F | RX 7900 XTX | 1TB SSD | 16GB RAM | $2,099.99 (save $200)
(Skytech)
While you're going last-gen on the Intel CPU here, that's a rather beastly AMD GPU. It may not be a consistent RTX 4080 competitor, but it'll get the job done at 4K. Pair that with a nice chunk of storage and you've got yourself a pretty decent gaming PC for the price.
ASRock Phantom Gaming Radeon RX 7900 XT | 20GB GDDR6 | 5,376 shaders | 2,450MHz boost | $799.99 (save $100)
(ASRock)
Here's an overclocked RTX 4070 Ti that's selling for $100 less than the original MSRP. This triple-fan OC card should be a solid upgrade from an RTX 3090 with better cooling and power efficiency. And it comes free a copy of the Last of Us Part 1!

This Heroic app is miles better at being the Epic Games Launcher than the Epic Games Launcher
(Heroic)
The Epic Games Launcher isn't great at dealing with large game libraries. Images take a while to pop in, the library only loads when you scroll past a certain point, and it's difficult to spot which games are already installed and ready to play. It's even sluggish to respond to mouse movements sometimes. But it doesn't have to be this way, as the Heroic Games Launcher proves.

Newegg's new ChatGPT-based AI PC builder has some funny ideas about cheap gaming PC builds
(Newegg)
Newegg, one of our go-to online retailers for acquiring PC components, has decided to integrate ChatGPT into several of its online features. Not only has it gone into the company's customer service chatbot, and into optimising search, but we're now seeing ChatGPT being used as an official AI PC building tool.

Man caught obviously smuggling CPUs under his clothes
(Kuai Technology)
There's an old adage that says if you're going to do some crime, then at least try to be smart about it. That way, even if you get caught you have a chance to come off as some sort of Ocean's Eleven heist genius, as opposed to this guy who tried to get through Chinese customs with 239 Intel Core processors obviously strapped to his person.
