Letter from the Team: If I’m being completely honest, I’ve had some internal struggles about the fraught relationship between fashion and sustainability. I work in an industry that’s well known for being a major contributor to climate change, and there have been moments when I’ve felt like a fraud for encouraging my friends and family to make eco-friendly lifestyle choices. And yet, I do think there’s a responsible way to produce and express yourself through clothing. After almost six years on the M.M.LaFleur team, I’m incredibly proud of the steps we’ve made in the right direction.

One thing M.M. has always done right is designing for longevity. Our pieces are made to stand the test of time, in terms of both style and durability—and there are a few easy but important tweaks you can make to help your clothes last as long as possible. Our summer collection is launching next week, and I’m especially excited about our new ribbed silk jersey pieces. Meticulously designed for the ultimate combination of stretch and silkiness, these styles are the antithesis of fast fashion—from the time we place an order with our factory partners, it takes six months (!) to complete production.
