When we officially kicked off our sustainability work in 2019, I was a little excited, but mostly overwhelmed by all that we could be doing. It felt difficult to know where to begin and how to focus our efforts. But once I realized that no one organization or individual can do it all, I was able to let go of the anxiety and home in on where M.M.LaFleur could make the biggest impact. As spring begins and the trees lining the streets of Brooklyn start to bloom, I’m feeling a sense of hope…and the urge to clean out my closet. Behind the scenes at M.M., we’ve been hard at work setting goals to minimize our impact on the environment and maximize our positive impact on our global community. We’re excited to share those goals with you soon, but in the meantime, we’re celebrating Earth Month by teaming up with stylist Liz Teich for this useful story on how to build a sustainable wardrobe. One lesson I took from our conversation was that if you focus on having fewer, better pieces that can be styled many ways, you won’t need to do as many closet cleanouts. Win, win.

Many of you have told us that you’re getting back into travel this summer, and it’s often those times away from home when our good habits start to slip. To help you avoid any last-minute panic shopping that results in buyer’s remorse, we put together a foolproof packing formula for your summer trips, complete with outfit ideas for five different destinations you might end up in.
