Letter from the CEO: Don’t let these photos of me fool you. I may be smiling, sipping a cappuccino, and reading languidly on a field of grass, but these are photos of a woman who is just holding it together. Last month, my entire family—my mother, who was visiting from Tokyo, my husband, my three 21-month olds, and I—got Covid, and because the kids are not vaccinated, we spent twelve days in lockdown with zero childcare. I thought the adults would fare better, but I was still nursing a fever on Day 10 and ended up starting a course of antivirals. Did I mention we didn’t have childcare? My husband and I fought like feral cats. My mother walked out on us. The kids almost killed each other, in a move that would have made them the youngest tribling murderers in history.

My lovely friend, travel expert, and style blogger Meghan Donovan also shared her aspirational wardrobe tips with us in a dreamy interview on how she packs for European vacations. These are the looks that will have every Parisian woman thinking, “American women are très chic!”

And for those closer to home, I know many of you are returning to the office right now for the first time since the start of the pandemic, even if it’s only for a few days a week. This can be an anxiety-inducing moment no matter who you are (because you’ve changed sizes,

you’ve started a new job,

or you’re dealing with an updated office dress code),

but this is especially true for those whose gender expression has changed during their time away from the office.
