$Letter from the Team: In a recent New York Times piece, style experts argue for the return of elevated in-flight outfits. As one designer interviewed mused, “Why treat travel as a chore when you can use dress to celebrate an experience only a small fraction of the overall population is privileged to enjoy?” On one hand, I agree. The ability to travel is a gift—and one we should appreciate now more than ever. But on the other hand…have you ever worn a stiff blazer while squished into the last row of economy? Because that doesn’t feel like an experience worth celebrating.$

There is a solution, of course: Polished travel-wear that’s also comfortable enough to accommodate whatever pretzel-like position you end up in as you try to catch a few hours of sleep during your red-eye. That’s part of why I felt so inspired reading about these moments when women felt like they’d finally “made it.'' It’s easy—especially as women—to downplay our successes, but what’s the point of working toward a goal if you don’t allow yourself to celebrate once you achieve it?
