I’m not really into new year’s resolutions, but I do like the “in” and “out” trend that’s been going around on social media. (For those of you not on social, people have been ringing in the new year by sharing what they’re welcoming into their lives in 2023—“in”—and what they hope to leave in 2022—“out”.) Here’s a small portion of my list.

In 2023, I hope to expand my wardrobe—not necessarily in terms of the number of pieces I own, but in terms of what I do with the pieces I have. For one, I’ll be taking cues from Emma and putting my suit pants to work on the weekend. In her newest article, she shares how she’s been styling her favorite trousers for very different occasions.

Of course, I’ve also gotten plenty of outfit inspiration from Miyako and the rest of the M.M. design team, who have been hard at work developing our upcoming new collections. The exercise of getting more out of what you already have isn’t only applicable to your wardrobe. As I get back into the swing of things, I’m also using this mentality to make better use of my weekly 1:1 meetings, with the help of these excellent tips from management expert Lara Hogan.
