Letter from the Team: One of my favorite Emily Dickinson poems begins, “I dwell in Possibility.” In it, Dickinson talks about possibility as if this mindset were a physical home: It has endless windows and its roof is made from “everlasting” sky. This environment allows her to focus on a singular task: the pursuit of her art. It’s a gorgeous ode to creative curiosity by a woman who wrote hundreds of poems (or fascicles, as they are known).

If there were ever a year for us to dwell in possibility at M.M., it’s this one, as we embrace the potential energy of our next decade. To help us mark the occasion of our ten-year anniversary, we asked seven artists we love to create original works inspired by our new M.M. icon, Woman with an Idea, whose abstract figure is forever paired with the spark of possibility above her head. Their works, which span mediums such as illustration, collage, and pottery (just to name a few), are tender and exuberant renderings of the many ideas sparking in us at any given moment—

and the joy of following that spark. One of our featured artists is Lacie RZ Porta, whose business, Framed Florals, was itself a leap into possibility. We had a chance to check in with her this week, and I am still in awe of the 67 books she read last year.

At the end of our campaign, we’ll offer these works for sale on our site, and 100% of the proceeds will go to a social impact organization of each artist’s choice. Follow along on our Instagram,
